Has the world gone mad or has their been tweeting back and forth by Simon Cowell and Nigel Lythgoe about there being a super finale sing-off involving American Idol and the U.S. X Factor?
Nigel Lythgoe pretty much punched Simon Cowell in the gut on Twitter when he put a stop to the proposal by Simon Cowell that the winner of the U.S. X Factor could possibly enter a “super-final” sing-off against the winners of American Idol.
This is due to the idea that Cowell tweeted Thursday when he said “I’d be up for it.”
Lythgoe’s reply was “The problem is the ‘Idol’ winner will be a star by then“. So basically Lythgoe shut the whole idea down.
There was disappointing ratings for the X Factor and American Idol is also reported to have slumping ratings. Is this a ploy to boost ratings just by talking about it? Is it a real possibility that this would ever happen?
Talk about fan wars. This would start something bigger than the normal fan wars. What’s gonna happen if the Voice from NBC is also included in these reindeer games? Remember, Twitter is a huge stage for people to bounce ideas around and ideas like these go viral in a hurry. Especially when it involves American Idol, The X Factor and The Voice. Not to mention Simon Cowell.
